Why blast mitigation

Specialized work, serious customers, and a skill few crews have.

Blast retrofits are bought by people who care about getting it right: base engineers, agencies, utilities, plant owners and armored-vehicle builders. The work rewards careful prep, thickness control and documentation, which is exactly what a trained applicator brings.

  • Standards create work

DoD antiterrorism standards apply to existing buildings at major renovations and occupancy changes5.

  • Demand is global

ArmorThane announced more than a dozen blast mitigation contracts across eight countries in 202618.

  • The rig pays every day

Between blast projects the same equipment sprays roofs, containment, bedliners and more15.

Questions

What new applicators ask first

Is this a franchise?

No. ArmorThane has run a zero-fee dealer model since day one: no franchise fee, no royalty and no advertising-fund fee. You buy equipment and material, and the business is yours15.

Where does training happen?

In most cases an ArmorThane technician comes to you and trains you and your crew on your own equipment, covering chemistry, safety, surface prep, spray technique, equipment care and troubleshooting. It ends with ArmorThane applicator certification15.

What support do I get after training?

A 24/7 technical line, a dealers-only portal with manuals, tech tips, data sheets and training videos, and marketing support including referral inquiries from ArmorThane's national advertising15.

Do I need a shop?

Not for blast work, which is almost always on site. A Mobile Coatings Unit takes the shop to the job. A fixed shop helps if you also want bedliners, trailer floors or manufacturing work, and fixed retail locations can qualify for a protected territory at no added cost15.

How do I find blast mitigation projects?

Start with the people who already buy protective work: base civil engineers and DPW offices, general contractors on government renovations, security integrators, utilities, plant owners and armored-vehicle builders. Register in SAM.gov14, get help from your APEX Accelerator20, and use ArmorThane's referral inquiries while you build a track record.

Can I finance the equipment?

Yes. ArmorThane lists third-party equipment financing for its packages15. Talk to us and we will connect you.
